Self-described Martha groupie, Mah Jongg junkie, Decorating Diva incorporating way too many collections. OCD about organization, etiquette (read appropriate social behavior) and according to husband – cleaning the house! Left of center politically, recovering Catholic, married to an atheist Jew. I have 50 goals I hope to meet before I’m “done” and about half have been accomplished. Some are looking pretty unlikely as time goes by BUT hey you never know… One was to write a book, a short story or publish an article – maybe I can count this blog as that one!
Divide life’s precious moments between celebrating life in New York City, nesting in our cottage in Ocean Grove New Jersey, doting on two adorable granddaughters who recently relocated from Boston to NYC (yay!) and worrying about the two dysfunctional offspring living in Los Angeles and San Diego – of course they live in CA!! Am passionate about Jersey tomatoes and ice cream. Oh, and I also sell real estate in Manhattan.
I blog about my daily life, the crazy days as well as the good times, the places I go, the people I meet, the movies I see and the food I cook….in other words just like any other blog basically this is just an egocentric stream of consciousness.
Three of my favorite sayings are: ” Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain” and “….regardless, either way, the end result is still the same” and finally, ” Only the truly accessorized survive in the asphalt jungle”. Those three homilies are diverse, different and totally unrelated – much like me all together!

I love reading your blog! Found it by accident one day and enjoy stopping by at least once a week to catch up.. keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! Is this Katie my old friend from Avon?
I tweeted the JFK-Kruschev little-known lunar thinggy. Like what you say. Keep going and luck!
Hi Geoff,
I hope you read the back editions, the web of entanglement WHO they are is amazing. I have two more installments, let’s see where it goes….I purposefully have not read ahead myself.
It’s a kind of magic, isn’it?
I’m writing from the other side of the world and I really hope someday i will visit snowy New York…
greetings from Italy..
I’m really sorry about my English!
Oh my I am so excited that you have commented on my blog. I visited your site and I think it translates to INSIDE MY VOID (EMPTY SPACE). Perhaps we can stay in touch. I WANT – i voglio so badly to go to Italy. I want to stay and learn the language before I am too old to do so. You don’t seem to write a lot in your blog, I hope you will write more and I will try to translate it. Are you writing poetry. And now that I have written all this, I hope you know enough English (which it seems you do) to understand my reply.
c’iao
Lori
Oh yes,is your name Ricardo? and how did you find my blog, I am so interested to know.
Lori
oh I’m so sorry! I just read the comment! what a mess I am! My name is Federica, I love mangas and animes, so my nick is Ricachan that means
“Federica girl”. I know, I don’t write frequently, I write only in strange moments or periods, it depends on my feelings. My blog is a sort of chaos, I hope you understand some of what i have written in
Yes I like to write poems, but I don’t like to put them on the net. what a brave you are that you want to learn Italian! If you want we can keep in touch. And I can translate my comments in Italian that you can learn some word! kisses!!!
Looking at your blog makes me miss New York all the more. I moved closer to the East Coast specifically so that I could make a trip up yonder, but the finances just haven’t been there. That’s okay, though, I know it’ll be my ultimate destination.
Well then we’ll just have to keep the photos coming for the next two years! You can see soooo much of the City and what goes on in it in my category, Fab Foto Friday. I have a friend and superb photographer who lets me post any of his photos. He’s partial to shooting in Central Park.
I hope you stop by soon. Thanks for your comment today.
so glad I stumbled across this, very creative. Love your name, didn’t get it until I say the photo!
Found you by accident as well, when googling ’1955 candyland cards’. Were you born in ’55? we sound the same age – haven’t read your blog – was just delighted to find the foto, and to read of your top 10 games. COOTIE!!
Hi Christine, Glad you stopped by today. Wish I had been born in 55 because this past Monday I celebrated the BIG one! Do you have a blog? When I tried to link to your name, just a photo came up.. I have a Cootie game at my cottage, saw it at a flea market and had to buy it.
